Our daily activities gives our residents some structure to their week, whilst also giving them something to look forward to. We have a number of clubs, including Gardening Club, Reading Club, Poetry & Story Club and Arts & Crafts and wherever possible, we encourage family members to come and join in on the fun! Other activities include a wide range of bingo games, flower arranging, musical movement, quizzes, tai chi (which is delivered by a qualified instructor), and the music memory man. We’re always open to new ideas from our residents to make our activities as fun and engaging as possible. It’s one of the things that sets us apart from other care homes in Hereford.
Throughout the year we hold a number of seasonal events which are not just for our residents, but for their families to enjoy, too. Christmas is a very special time for us, for example, and we make a big effort to make the house as festive as possible – you may even spot a reindeer when you visit us! Whenever there is a special birthday, our team host a fun event with food and refreshments and decorate all the communal areas to suit. We also hold an annual dog show, where we invite family members and locals to take part and show off their four-legged family members! If you have a special birthday or occasion, we can also arrange for a private lunch or dinner to be prepared for you and your family – all at no extra charge.
Unlike other care homes, our accommodation offer goes above and beyond. In addition to standard furniture, we also offer a wide range of extras to make your stay as enjoyable as possible – all within one price.
We provide residents with three delicious, and freshly made meals every day. Our kitchen team works with local suppliers to create seasonal dishes that cater to all dietary requirements and tastes, using feedback from our residents.
We offer a wide range of care services that are tailored to your individual needs. Whether you need to stay with us for a couple of weeks or long term, our team have the skills and passion to care for you.
Who doesn’t enjoy a day out? Wherever possible our team plans daytrips to local places – we try to choose locations where the travel won’t be too long or uncomfortable for any of our vulnerable residents. This can include trips to local garden centres, watching cricket at the local club, canal trips and even our local pub. We also like to support days out for residents on palliative care and will do what we can to accommodate and give families something to remember, such as a day at the seaside.
We understand that at times, residents may feel down or lost, but may not feel comfortable speaking with other residents or our staff about their feelings. We have a dedicated pastoral care specialist on-site who speaks with each of our residents, checking in with how they’re managing and offer an unbiased opinion. This level of care ensures our residents always feel comfortable and have an additional person to speak with.
During your stay with us, family members and friends are welcome to visit you whenever they like. We have an open-door policy meaning residents can come and go as they please, leaving the premises for days out, etc. We also welcome dogs to visit residents and we have lovely locations around the site to enjoy dog walks and fresh air. Unfortunately, we do not permit pets to stay at Brockhampton with our residents.
If you have a question about staying at Brockhampton Court, or any of the services we provide, please get in touch with us and a member of the team will be happy to assist you.
