We’re dedicated to ensuring that we’re as environmentally friendly as possible. Throughout each of our departments, we take the time to review processes and the products we use to make improvements that support the environment and make the home as sustainable as it can be.
Making improvements for the future of the environment
One of the steps we’ve made to improve our efforts to be more environmentally friendly is the removal of all oil from Brockhampton Court. Instead, we use a biomass boiler, which burns woodchips that we source from Scotland and America. We’re also self-sufficient with our own water source on-site but should we incur a water shortage/issue within the home, we have access to our own borehole which is to be used in the event something happens with our infrastructure.
Environmentally friendly energy
On-site we have a generator which is set to power up within three seconds if our power fails. This ensures that everything continues to run (lighting, etc) and any residents who are reliant on machines for comfort, etc. don’t experience any hindrances. We have invested in solar panels to help generate additional power to be as green as possible. As we are a completely independent care home, we have the luxury of being able to research into, and deploy, a wide range of alternatives to keep the care home running whilst being environmentally friendly. We’re always looking for new ways we can utilise our countryside location to improve our efficiency and carbon footprint.
